Privacy and confidentiality
Your privacy is respected and personal information is handled and stored securely.
Confidentiality is a key part of counselling. There are limits to confidentiality in certain circumstances, including serious risk of harm or where disclosure is required by law. These limits are explained clearly during intake and consent.
Legal and regulatory obligations
This practice operates in accordance with relevant Australian and Western Australian laws and professional standards governing counselling, privacy, and the handling of personal information.
This includes compliance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, which guide how personal and health information is collected, used, stored, and disclosed.
Client records are maintained securely and accessed only for professional purposes. Records may be stored electronically and are protected using reasonable security measures to reduce the risk of unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.
Where online systems are used (including telehealth platforms and practice management tools), reasonable steps are taken to protect information, including password protection, secure connections, and the use of reputable, encrypted services.
Further information about privacy legislation is available at:

Telehealth sessions
Sessions are provided via Zoom, a secure telehealth platform, and conducted in a professional setting where privacy is protected and conversations cannot be overheard.
While telehealth platforms are generally reliable, technical difficulties such as internet disruption, audio or video issues can occasionally occur. Reasonable efforts will be made to manage or resolve technical difficulties if they arise. However, this practice cannot be held responsible for interruptions caused by factors outside of its control, including internet outages or platform issues. If a session is significantly disrupted, arrangements will be discussed to support continuity of care where possible.
Telehealth may not suit everyone. If it is not the right fit, support can be offered to explore alternative counselling options that feel more suited to your needs.
Intake and consent
Before counselling begins, you will be provided with clear information so you can make an informed decision about participation.

- Confidentiality and its limits
- Telehealth arrangements
- Fees and cancellation requirements
- How to raise questions or concerns
Fees and payments
Payments are processed securely via Stripe through the online booking system.
All sessions are provided as private counselling services. A receipt can be provided upon request.
Cancellations and rescheduling
Rescheduling is easiest and quickest via the booking link.
All cancellations require at least 48 hours’ notice. Late cancellations impact availability for others and prevent others from booking services, so fees will apply inside the notice period.
Practitioner cancellation: If a session needs to be cancelled due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, you will be contacted as soon as possible and offered rescheduling or a full refund.
If you need urgent support
This practice is not an emergency service. If you are at immediate risk of harm, please call 000 or attend your nearest Emergency Department.
Professional standards
This practice follows an ACA accredited approach and professional ethical guidelines.
Feedback and concerns
If you have concerns about your care, you are encouraged to raise them directly so they can be addressed respectfully. You may also seek guidance through the relevant professional body if needed.
